- I have been an Interior Designer for over 25 years. I realized at a very young age that I was fascinated by transformation. Art and design was a great outlet for my creativity. My approach to interior design has always been concept driven. I spend alot of time with the customers and the space to really establish what the overall look will be before I make even one selection. This approach makes the process so much easier. I am a U.of M. graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design with a Studio Arts minor. I graduated with "Distinction" and was President of the Omicron Nu Honor Society. I was hired right from college by "Lifespace Interiors" which later became "Dumarkays", and finally "Bowes Interiors". We designed alot of homes in the Highland Park area. We became the exclusive Designers for The Charles Cudd Company in the late 1980's. after about 8 or so years, Marilyn Bowes and I did several homes for Kootenia Homes. I was hired by Dewitt Homes where I stayed for about 8 years. I decided to go on my own in 2001 as J. Stark Interiors. I have been working with A.maas construction for about 9 years now
